BIOGRAPHY:

Cipriana Correia (born August 12, 1992) is an Ecuadorian beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss World Ecuador 2012 and represented her country in the 2012 Miss World pageant

Born to an Ecuadorians parents. Correia speaks Spanish and English, she loves playing soccer, and she is current student of journalism at ITV.

Cipriana, who stands 1.75 m (5 ft 9 in) tall, competed as the representative of Esmeraldas, one of 18 finalists in her country's national beauty pageant, Miss Ecuador 2012, broadcast live on March 16, 2012 from La Libertad, where she obtained the title of Miss World Ecuador, gaining the right to represent her country in Miss World 2012.

Carolina Aguirre Pérez (C) was crowned Miss Ecuador 2012

Carolina Aguirre, a 19-year old university student from Guayaquil, was crowned Miss Ecuador 2012 during an event held at the Puerto Marina Yacht Club in La Libertad on March 16th.

Aguirre stands 177 cm in height and also won the awards of Miss Cielo and Rostro Yanbal. She will represent her country during the Miss Universe 2012 pageant to be held in December.

Crowned Miss World Ecuador is Cipriana Correia Macias, from Esmeraldas. She is 21 years old, stands 173 cm tall, and will compete in the 62nd Miss World competition to be held in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China, in August.

Miss Ecuador International is 20-year old Tatiana Loor Hidalgo from Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas. She will travel to Chengdu, China, to the Miss International competition in November.

Tatiana Chele, Nicole Cevallos and Sulay Castillo completed the top 6 finalists. They will represent Ecuador in the Miss Supranational, Reina Hispanoamericana and Miss Atlantico Internacional competitions. 18 women competed in the annual contest, televised live by Gama TV.

Miss Ecuador will be chosen March 16th during a special event to take place at the Puerto Lucia Yacht Club in La Libertad (Santa Elena), with the participation of 18 beautiful contestants.

Among the special guests are Miss World 1984, Astrid Carolina Herrera, and brazilian designer Salvatore Laureano. Both will be part of the panel of judges.

The winner -who will be crowned by Claudia Schiess, reigning Miss Continente Americano- gets a spectacular crown designed by Daniella Kronfle, valued at USD 30,000, and she also gets a brand new automobile. Top 6 finalists will be chosen, to compete for the titles of Miss Ecuador Universe, Miss World Ecuador and Miss International Ecuador.

Miss International 2011, the 51st edition of the pageant that gathered 67 delegates, was held on November 6 at the Sichuan Opera Theatre, in Chengdu, China.

22-year old Maria Fernanda Cornejo from Ecuador bested 66 other contestants from around the world to win the first ever grand slam title for her country.

First runner-up was Jessica Barboza of Venezuela. Second runner-up was Miss Mongolia, Tugsuu Idersaikhan.

Completing the top 5 were beauties from Puerto Rico, Desiree Del Rio and Panama, Keity Mendieta.

Lady Fernanda Mina to represent Ecuador at the Miss Universe 2010At the Miss Ecuador 2010 Grand Final held at the Centro de Convenciones y Exposiciones (CEMEXPO) in Quito on March 25th, Lady Fernanda Mina, has been crowned the Miss Ecuador 2010.Lady Fernanda Mina is 23 year old and stands 1.70 m tall. Currently, she is a student of communications from Guayas. Lady will represent Ecuador at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant to be held later in the year.

Besides, other beauty queens have been chosen to represent the country at international beauty pageants:

Ana Galarza, a 20-year old model from Tungurahua, was crowned Miss Ecuador Mundo. The 1.73 m beauty is currently a student of psychology and will be working in charity projects as she prepares to compete in the Miss World 2010 contest in November.

Big favorite Andrea Suarez from Loja won the title of Miss Ecuador International. The 1.80 m stunner holds a degree in journalism and will represent Ecuador at the Miss International 2010 pageant in Shanghai, China, in October.
